multiple, 1973, record matrix (nickel plated copper) with die-cut hole, and two felt pads stamped with the artist's name and the Braun-kreuz in paint, signed in blue ink and numbered 25/77 (there were also seven artist's copies in Roman numerals) on a printed label affixed to the box (as issued), published by Edition Schellmann, Munich, the front of the disc tarnished, the reverse of the disc with heavy rust spots, otherwise in very good condition

One of his signature materials, Beuys frequently used felt both literally -- as a physical insulator, and symbolically -- as a metaphorical shield against unwanted energies or influences. The circular disc symbolizes the sun.
