Circular, on three button feet, the stem with ebonised silver-mounted handle, with reeded snuffer, with detachable nozzle, engraved with Greek cypher below Greek Royal crown, fully marked, the base further engraved 'SCHüRMANN'
4½ in. (11 cm.) high
gross weight 11 oz. (366 gr.)
The cypher is that of King George I of the Hellenes, Prince of Denmark (1845-1913).

Christopher Dresser (1834-1904), was one of the most influential designers of his time. A contemporary of William Morris, he was Britain's first independent industrial designer. Dresser pioneered a new modern style, creating beautiful objects for the emerging consumer culture. Dresser was influenced by art and design from Japan, Egypt and Asia as well as abstract botanical patterns.
