CIRCA 1738-40, BLUE CROSSED SWORDS MARK, GILDER'S 60. TO BOTH
Probably painted by B.G. Hauer, the front and reverse painted with figures in landscapes with ruins and dilapidated buildings, within quatrefoil gilt cartouches with gilt scrolls and lustre panels edged with red and purple scrolls, the sides with marine scenes, with boats, figures, cargo and buildings, below a Gitterwerk border, the flat shoulder edged with a gilt border enclosing two purple diaper panels edged with foliage, the cylindrical cover edged with a gilt band, the flat top with two scenes about a gilt cone finial (areas of very slight wear)
