Each of with a distictive scooped and everted border, painted overall with slightly variant peasant couples in landscape vignettes amongst poplar trees and fallen lumber and rockwork, those on the teabowls seated side by side, those on the saucers with one figure seated and the other standing behind, gilt line rims

Various suggestions as to the origin of the present teabowls have been proposed, among them Weesp and Ansbach. These pieces are more likely the work of a small Thuringian or perhaps South German factory.
