He married Catrina Geertruyd van Diepen in 1697 whom was the widow of the silversmith Pieter van Laar from Zwolle. Together they had five children, one of them, Adrianus, also became a silversmith. Their daughter Sara married Johannes Hallegraef who worked as a silversmith in Deventer. In 1710, a year after Catrina died, he re-married with Hendrina Onkhuysen from Kampen and together they had another two daughters. Dirk died in 1719 and was burried in the Michaëls church in Zwolle. Quite some silver made by Dirk Beeldemaker and his son Adrianus has survived and several of them are in the collection of G.A.H. Buisman. Next to the lovely brandybowls made by Dirk and Adrianus (lots 243-246) the present beaker made in 1699 by Dirk is a good example of his remarkable skills. Literature: B.
