Zhar-ptitsa is probably the most important emigré art periodical and an essential work of reference. It includes contributions by I. Bilibin, N. Goncharova, M. Larionov, A. Iakov'lev, V. Shukhaev, K. Somov, S. Sorin, A. Benois, B. Grigor'ev, A. Lakhovskii, L. Pasternak, and all of the contributers to the 'World of Art' group.
