A well engineered 20th-Century brass and ferrous metal patent model of a twin cylinder horizontal mill engine,
with metal clad cylinders approximately 2in. bore x 4in. stroke, manually operated draincocks (one set of controls missing), cylinder lubricators, slipper-type crosshead guides, barrelled connecting rods, counterbalanced disc cranks, the crankshaft mounted in curved trunnions with oil cups, gear driven centrally mounted shaft drive to a centrally mounted valve chest with rotary valve, patent reversing gear including the main stop valve, the reverse quadrant engraved Right, Stop and Left, the whole finished in green, black and polished brightwork and mounted on a mahogany base on four bun feet, with brass plate engraved REG.
