A fine mid 18th-Century small English mahogany chest with silver fittings,
of trunk style with truncated lid, the interior with faded red velvet and silver braid trim and fitted to house a stemmed medicine glass and six bottles with facet-cut shoulders and ground-glass stoppers surmounted by silver screw caps with part-fluted decoration and engraved for LAVENDAR DROPS, HARTSHORN, ARQUEBUSADE, SALTS, VOLATILE and EAU DE LUCE, the case with silver lobed boss with ring handle, shield escutcheon and key and hinges on exterior -- 11.3cm. x 13.4 x 10.5cm.
