Worked in counted stitch on the front and back with large blossoming peony branches, within an inner pale turquoise brocade border and black-ground outer borders similarly decorated and repeated at the collar and cuffs, picked out in shades of purple, green and red against a bright red ground, all within gold silk chevron bands
