Each of coopered form with carrying handles, one branded twice with a crown and 'GRIV 1826' and twice with a crown and 'GR'; the other with a crown above 'N, NO.3' and with two crowns quartered above a larger crown and '4 PECKS'

In 1826 a new law was introduced classifying standard weights and measures.
The 'N' mark is possibly a Town and County stamp for Nottingham.
