Eric Clapton initially purchased this guitar for collecting purposes from Freddie Wallacki.

David Russell Young is best known to guitar makers as the author of The Steel String Guitar - Construction and Repair. This 1975 book was instrumental in influencing a generation of American luthiers. The outline of this instrument is strongly influenced by the Dreadnought series of guitars first produced by C.F. Martin and Company.
