Haswell Miller studied at the Glasgow School of Art and in Munich, Berlin, Vienna and Paris. Best known for his drawings of military costume and Highland dress, a retrospective exhibition was held at the Imperial War Museum in 1971. In 1930 he became Deputy Director of the National Galleries of Scotland.
