(18.5cm); two beaded 19th century purses, one netted of white cotton; a woven pink silk purse with two cartes de visite and paste clasp; and a piece of beadwork stuck to a card dated 1841 (5)

The following back-ground information may be of interest regarding the cartes de visite included in the lot :

Klementine, or Clementine (1897-1975), was the daugther of August Leopold, Prince of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha (1867-1922) and Karoline, Archduchess of Austria (1869-1945). She married in 1925 Mr Edouard von Heller (1877-1970) and had three children. Albert, Prince Consort to Queen Victoria was the cousin of Klementine's great-great-grandfather, August, Prince of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, (1818-1881).
Princess Clementine and Mrs. Harley Granville-Barker were contemporaries but it is not know how they were connected.
