The circular dial with Roman numerals and engine-turned centre and twin barrel movement (later suspension) with countwheel strike on bell, within an altar-shaped stepped rectangular case surmounted by a Trojan helment and flanked by a standing figure of a classically draped and bearded man, on a stepped rectangular base with stylised leaf-tip moulding and panelled block feet, the movement stamped 'HAUSSARD VITRY LE FRANÇAIS'
