The case with brass handle to inverted bell top, glazed sides, the front door with later carved quarter fets, the rear door with later pierced oak frets, the moulded base on block feet, the 5 in. breakarch dial signed Davd. Hubert London on a silvered sector in the finely matted centre with calendar aperture, Roman and Arabic chapter ring, pierced blued steel hands, foliate spandrels, the arch with calibrated ring for pendulum regulation, the movement with five pillars - central pillar latched, the remainder pinned, single gut fusee, original verge escapement with spring-loaded rise-and-fall bar over the plates with snail cam adjustment behind the dial, pull quarter repeat on two bells, the backplate profusely engraved with foliage and signed Dan: Hubert London, similarly engraved pendulum holdfast, later securing brackets
