This mirror is evocative of Piedmontese works of the late 18th century, incorporating the super-imposed carved doves, floral garlands and suspended wreaths found on mirrors of the region, such as on a mirror illustrated in G. Child, World Mirrors, London, 1990, p. 283, fig. 621.
