The circular glazed and enamelled dial with Roman and Arabic chapters signed 'Gavelle L'é AParis', within a drum case surmounted by a figure of Neptune and suspended from two fluted columns surmounted by an orrery and a globe, respectively, on lion paw feet and a circular shaft with love trophies and a cocave-sided and canted square base with chained pilasters and a guilloche panel on paw feet, on a stepped shaped rectagular plinth with gallery and central recumbent lion, restorations and losses to porcelain and to gallery of plinth
