Of flaring cylindrical form, moulded and pierced as a laced trellis basket, the lower portion with four oblong octagonal panels in two sizes finely painted with birds against a pale blue sky and reserved on the burnished gold ground, chased between each cartouche with paired foliate scrolls terminating in rosettes and issuing from a central lozenge, the flaring foot as reticulated basket staves, the bottom of the basket level with the lacing above the painted birds
