The case with foliate cast handle to foliate caste repoussé basket top, glazed sides and moulded base on four feet, the 7 in. sq. dial engraved John Miller, London on the silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre, pierced blued steel hands, winged cherub spandrels, the five-pillar twin gut fusee movement with knife-edge verge escapement and rack strike on a bell, reconverted verge escapement, backplate profusely engraved with scrolling foliage; case circa 1700, movement circa 1780, dial of later date
