The case with cast brass handle to gilt repoussé brass basket top and later urn finials, glazed side panels, on later feet, the 6¼in. square brass dial with winged cherub mask spandrels to a probably later Roman and Arabic chapter ring, matted centre with later arched plaque signed BEN DAVIS LONDON, date aperture above, the eight day twin gut fusee movement with five latched double baluster pillars, replaced verge escapement and apron, strike on later bell, the back plate elaborately engraved with foliate scrolls and with birds around a basket, secured to the case with two bolts through the lower pillars, possibly associated, with adaptations, late 17th century -- 13¾in. (35cm.) high to fold of handle
