A George III mahogany longcase clock, circa 1815
The hood with wavy arch cresting and later brass finials above fluted frieze, with foliate boss mounts, crimped frame to the door, outset reeded columns, the short trunk door with ebonised moulded edge and ebony line inlays, with tulipwood banding to the trunk and to the plinth, on high bracket feet, the 12in. wide white painted dial with floral spandrels and urn and flower arch scene, Arabic chapters, with subsidiary seconds ring and arch date aperture, signed Tho. Harris/Bath, black painted hands, with false plate stamped RICH.D BLOOD to the eight day movement with four pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on bell; restorations to cheekboards -- 89½in. (227cm.) high
