The drum case with eagle cresting and supported on four monopodiae headed by Egyptian busts, the base with engine-milled bands and central leaf cast boss, secured to an associated white marble plinth, the dial with openwork running scroll frieze around a white enamel Roman and Arabic chapter ring banded with a border of royal blue decorated with gilt stars, the centre cast with clouds and with a classical female sacrificing to Zeus in the form of an eagle the eight day twin barrel movement with Brocot suspension and strike on bell stamped for Samuel Marti -- 16½in. (42cm.) high
