Rectangular grey lacquer étui-à-tablettes, the cover applied with gold inscription SOUVENIR D'AMITIE on a matted gold scroll, swags below, both sides of the base set with foiled oval red glass medallions, one applied with a gold plaque chased with Cupid at work, the reverse with foliate monogram 'LD', both within two-colour gold rose and leaf border, the pierced gold mounts chased with scrolls, inside gold-capped pencil and gold-riveted six-leaved tablets
