MARKED WITH THE INITIALS OF SERGEI SAZIKOV, ST. PETERSBURG, 1864
Traditionally shaped, the body overall engraved with entwined scrolls, the reverse with a stylized cartouche enclosing an engraved Russian inscription Pray for boyarin Nicholas and boyarina Barbara Voeikov, the front with a hook, the door opening to reveal an icon of St. Kiprian Metropolitan of Kiev and St. Sergei flanked by St. Nicholas and St. Barbara, traditionally painted against gilt ground and within green borders, in the original wooden fitted case, stamped Sazikov with Imperial Warrant, the front of the box with a silver coat of arms of the Voeikov family, fully marked
