Of richly-gilt oval form, the pierced acanthus and flowerhead rim applied with a pair of scrolled handles mounted with a maiden with basket of flowers, the tapering bowl decorated on one side with a reserve painted with a lady and two suitors making music, and to the other with a river view, the interior decorated with summer flowers, on circular spreading laurel-cast foot and square base with concaved angles, the top of the base inscribed La Milizia Posttelegrafica/Roma 24 Aprile 1930/Anno VIII
