4o (185 x 135 mm). (Title with inner margin renewed, upper margin renewed on A3, small hole mended on C4 with some letters supplied in manuscript.) Modern red morocco, gilt-lettered on front cover and spine, edges gilt, by Riviere (front joint weak).
Sixth edition. The first edition had been printed by Humphrey Lownes for Clement Knight in 1606. It is believed to have been a Cambridge play, and was influenced directly by The Spanish Tragedie, The Merchant of Venice and Romeo and Juliet. The work is sometimes attributed to George Peele (1558-ca 1598). Greg 234f; STC 25823.
