The drum case with eagle finial and supported by harpies, with Mercury mounts to the front and raised on hairy paw feet, the ormolu dial with white enamel Arabic chapter ring and centred by an automaton figure of Vulcan at his forge, blued steel spade hands (later?), the thirty-hour twin barrel movement with silk suspension and strike on gong, with Vulcan striking an anvil in time with the gong, trip repeat; movement and dial possibly associated to case -- 14½in. (37cm.) high
