For three decades one of the most highly respected Domaines of the Côte de Nuits, this estate is known for its perfumed, silky, elegant style. Structure and body never overpower the rich intensity of fruit. Owner Jacques Seysses only produces 12-15 Jeroboams of each Grand Cru in the best vintages, so the Jeroboam of Clos de la Roche 1978 is exceptionally rare. "We have too much wine at home to drink", says Seysses, "so I will let these bottles go. You may happily keep the 1990s, especially Clos Saint Denis and Clos de la Roche, but the 1985s are delicious, right now." This is a fabulous offering from Dujac. AH
