This strike refers to the Kerry family of chair makers (fl. 1820-1861) who were chair turners of Evesham, Worcestershire. Numerous examples of their ladder back chairs are recorded, including one other known example of this design, now belonging to the Geffrye Museum as part of the Cotton collection. See Dr B Cotton, The English Regional Chair Woodbridge, 1990, pg 288-294 for other examples.
