Recently removed by NYWinesCHRISTIE'S staff from a custom built underground home cellar maintaining ideal temperature and humidity levels for fine wine.
Recently it was a great pleasure for me to revisit this cellar and a further fortune of ours to once again bring the excellent provenance represented below to auction.
As you will see this Gentleman's passion is fervently served by the rich, robust wines of the nation's premier growing region, Napa Valley. The entire collection, of which this is but a portion, has been assembled from only the finest, most reliable sources, be they winery direct or at auction.
The theme of the collection recognizes the great California winemakers of 1970s, '80s and '90s; their assemblage upon release places this collector at the forefront of cutting edge winemaking styles. Wines such as the 1975 (inaugural vintage) & 1976 Caymus, Special Select, offered below in magnum, are vinuous monuments to Randy Dunn, the former winemaker at Caymus. As can be seen by this collector's near complete vertical devotion to Randy's own aply named wine the passion for grand wine has never been sated.
Further highlights include an exceedingly rare 1990 double magnum and magnums of Diamond Creek, Lake Vineyard and a twelve vintage vertical of Grace Family.
