From day one this wine has been one of the top two or three wines of the of the great 1961 vintage. From the moment the wine hit the casks is was clear to all that this maybe one of the greatest wines of the post war era, not just of Palmer, but of all Bordeaux. Even at the early Christie's wine auctions in London it was fetching prices at first growth level, something that has continued to this day.
