PETRUS
The first mention of the Pétrus estate was in 1837, but its wines were little known until the late 1950s. Today however it reigns supreme as one of the finest and most decdent wines on planet earth. The first and most obvious thing that separates Pétrus from the crowd is the concentration of the wines. There is no secret however, it's simply down to two main factors; very old vines and a long maceration, it also gives the wine great consistency from vintage to vintage.
