Early 19th century, partial gilt crowned crossed batons and D mark to the first
Painted with a coat-of-arms in a gilt roundels below a band of oak leaves, the dark-blue-ground well gilt with stars and hoops between pendants leaves, the black-ground border reserved with a continuous band of pink roses between thick gilt bands (retouching to border and gilt rim), two Coalport plates, probably decorated in the London workshop of Thomas Baxter, one painted to the well with a band of leaves and flowers between richly gilt sections reserved in iron-red with Greek key pattern bands and acanthus ornament, the other painted with panels of flowers between orange-ground sections (restored) and a Chamberlain's armorial plate (some rubbing throughout)
