AN UNUSUAL HUNTING SWORD
The blade early 18th Century, the hilt circa 1700
With straight single-edged blade double-edged towards the point and etched (and originally gilt) with a panel of running symmetrical decoration on each side within the shallow fuller, on each side of the forte etched symmetrical strapwork, the inscription 'Deux Coeurs Bien unis sont dans ce monde un Paradis', and a round recess originally containing a counter, chiselled iron hilt, and natural buckhorn grip
