The breakarch case with brass handle to brass-lined triple pad top, brass fishscale sound frets to the sides, the stepped base raised on brass bracket feet, with brass-lined front door and gilt foliate spandrels to white enamel Roman dial with Arabic quarters and crossed minute track, brass hands, with enamel subsidiary strike/silent disc in the arch decorated with leafy sprigs, the five pillar triple fusee (wire lines) movement with verge escapement, quarter chiming on eight bells and with hour strike on further bell, formerly with trip repeat, the back plate elaborately engraved with foliage and the movement securing brackets engraved with leafy sprigs -- 15¼in. (39cm.) high to hilt of handle; dial and movement possibly associated to case
