The breakarch case with inset reeded columns with carved Corinthian capitals to the front angles, carved wood sound frets to the sides, with fluted and carved base and raised on bun feet, the arched dial with silvered sight ring and overlaid with an engraved gilt foliate trellis mask, silvered chapter ring applied with gilt-brass Arabic chapters, silvered and foliate scroll engraved centre, with conforming subsidiary rings above for chime/silent, slow/fast and chime on eight bells/Westminster chimes, the triple chain fusee movement with anchor escapement, hour strike on gong and quarter chimes on four further gongs, with pendulum holdfast to the spot-finished back plate -- 14in. (35.75cm.) high
