The thinly potted dish decorated on the interior in bright pastel enamels with a scene of a lady seated in a yokeback chair wearing loosely draped robes and playing a pipa, her young male assistant holding a ruyi sceptre and standing before a bamboo corner-leg table set with a stack of books tied in a brocade wrapper and a teacup and kettle, the room further furnished with large porcelain vases, a garden seat, and a tall stand supporting an archaic bronze zun vessel with two peacock feathers and a branch of pink coral, the exterior covered in a deep reddish-pink enamel
