the pointed arched back with three pierced vertical splats with oval and quartefoil detail, inswept front arm supports with a conforming underarm pierced splat, on turned tapering legs joined by a crinoline stretcher -- 42in. (107cm.) high, 22in. (57cm.) wide, 17½in. (44cm.) deep

This chair is a good example of idiosyncratic craftsmanship:- the Gothic flavour is achieved with gentler ovals and quatrefoils in the pierced splats as opposed to the more typical pointed arches.
