See Oliver, p. 99, fig. 131, for a similar example of Potash Farm. James B. Rush, the owner of Potash Farm, was a murderer and an auctioneer. Unable to settle his gambling debts he shot his neighbor, Issac Jeremy, the holder of the mortgage, killed his son, wounded his son's wife and the maid. He then forged Jeremy's name to a document giving him complete ownership of Potash Farm, November 28, 1848.
