Signed Jukan, Meiji Period (Late 19th Century)
Leaning forward with his weight resting on his right leg, a bunch of peonies in his left hand resting on his right arm which is stretched out before him, at his waist two smaller baskets and a pair of gardener's secateurs to the left and a bamboo inro and netsuke to the right, a larger basket on his back containing narcissi and lilies, wearing typical countryman's dress of the late Edo period including breeches, jacket and headscarf, signed on the base Jukan, some old damage
