Napa Valley
The first vintage of the John Daniel Society (named after the founder of Napa Valley's famous Inglenook winery) in a joint venture with Christian Mouiex . Blend of cepages, 75 Cabernet-Sauvignon and 25 Merlot. By 1991 the Cabernet-Sauvignon had increased to 83 Merlot decreased to 7 and Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot introduced to the blend, 8 and 2 respectively, Curiously, the only time I have tasted this, (and it was blind, amongst 144 of the worlds greatest red wines), I thought that from its flavour and texture that it must be a Pomerol.
