A Berlin topographical cabinet-cup and saucer
Circa 1820, underglaze blue sceptre marks, the cup impressed ,,, the saucer impressed 28 ,,
The cup with an anthemion scroll handle with a palmette lower terminal, painted with a view of the Friedrichswerdersche Kirche within a square gilt band cartouche named below in gilt script Die neue Werdersche Kirche in Berlin. on a ground of gilt arched panels alternately gilt with foliage and rose bushes below a pink-ground with gilt diaper-pattern beneath a broad gilt band, the foot and part of the interior of the cup richly gilt, the saucer with a central gilt rosette within a border of similar arched panels on a pink ground with gilt diaper-pattern within a gilt band (restoration to rim of cup near handle, rim chip to saucer, slight rubbing to handle and interior of cup)
