The stepped three-quarter galleried top above the panelled roll-top enclosing a brown leather-lined sliding writing-surface, three short drawers, three simulated short drawers and two pigeon holes, above a short panelled frieze-drawer flanked by two conforming drawers to each side, on fluted turned tapering legs terminating in sabots, veneered to the reverse

The stamp is most probably that of the celebrated Louis XVI period menuisier Philippe Poirier, mâitre in 23 October 1765, probably acting as a dealer.
