The above shirt was worn by Geoff Hurst in the 1966 World Cup Quarter-Final match against Argentina played on 23rd July at Wembley. This was Hurst's first appearance in the finals, replacing the injured Jimmy Greaves. In this ill-tempered match Hurst scored the only goal which secured England's place in the semi-finals. Although Alf Ramsey refused to let some of his players exchange shirts with the Argentinian players, Gonzalez gained the above shirt as a swap with Hurst
