COMPARATIVE LITERATUTRE:
A related pair of screen panels were sold at Sotheby's London, Cold Overton Hall Collection, 10 October 1986, lot 48. The panels bear the same double headed eagle arms for the Speke family of Speke Hall, Liverpool. The winged lion of St. Mark is possibly one of the female members of the family. It is feasible to consider that these two sets of panels are possibly by the same hand and originally from the same screen.
