A William IV engraved gilt-brass carriage timepiece

The case with fixed shallow handle above a lobed and recessed panel to the top plate engraved with a townscape, the raised border engraved with foliate scrolls against a lined ground, the side panels engraved with exotic cityscapes of a bridge, pagodas and towers and bordered above and below by foliate scrolls inhabited by an eagle head and a horse head and male mask respectively, with columnar angles and raised on concave-faceted tapering feet, the plain rear door with sprung catch, the dial mask with scroll and flowerhead engraving and an exotic cityscape conforming to the side panels, the recessed and silvered dial with lobed inner border to a chapter ring engine-turned vertically and horizontally to highlight the painted Roman numerals, the centre similarly engine-turned and engraved with foliate scrolls, with blued steel moon hands, punched signature THOS COLE concealed on the top plate, the single chain fusee movement with scratched signature Thos Cole on the fusee, with J.F. Cole's detached lever escapement with 26 tooth escape wheel and plain steel three arm balance; with original crimson leather travel case with brass side catches
