finely embroidered in silks and couched gilt thread with nine gilt dragons against a sky of elegant cloud scrolls, with bats and Taoist emblems above a turbulent sea-wave border, the borders and horse-shoe cuffs of midnight blue satin similarly worked, first half of the 19th century with later quilted lining, (lower sleeves replaced, borders reapplied, fastenings moved, stains)
