A Sèvres casket and hinged cover
the cover painted with a boy and shepherdess courting within a blue celeste border gilt with a band of leaves below a band gilt with scrolling fgoliage terminating in flowerheads and reserved with vignettes of buildings in landscape, below each border a band of flowers, the body decorated with similar bands, the interior painted with loose bouquets of flowers among lesser sprays, with gilt metal mounts, the panel signed Maugere, printed and painted marks -- 12in. (30.5cm.) wide, 19th century (wear, some re-gilding around mounts)
