Cellophane-fronted 'Nine Thousand Series' Boxed Sets In 1962 Britains issued cellophane-fronted boxed sets, re-numbering some of the existing sets; the catalogue numbering began at 9000, so is known as The Nine Thousand Series. The contents of these boxes consist mainly of amended set numbers, and in some cases variations in the composition of the sets occur; dates refer to the first date of issue of the set number. In some cases the figures have paper labels indicating set number applied to the underside, and all are untied from the backing cards. Cellophane-fronted boxes were designed for effective display and easy access to figures within; however, once opened, the box flaps and cellophane are easily distorted, and some flaps, tabs and cellophanes are either missing, detached, partly detached or damaged; overall F-E
