The broken scrolled pediment centred by a stylised fleur-de-lys above a blind fretwork carved frieze, fitted with an arched glazed door flanked by fluted gilt-metal mounted Corinthian columns and enclosing an engraved brass dial, with subsidiary silvered seconds dial and date aperture with silvered chapter-ring, the arch inscribed W.F.Evans & Sons, Birmingham 1925, the case fitted with a moulded rectangular panelled trunk door with boxwood batswing spandrels and centred by an oval panel, inlaid with a ribbon-tied urn, flanked by canted fluted Corinthian column angles, the panelled base with similar batswing spandrels and oval medallion, on a later moulded plinth with bracket feet, 79in. (246.5cm) high
